The velvet clouds, expectant with snow and dread, hugged the barren mountains in a suffocating embrace. And like a child rising out of bed clinging to its blanket in defiance, the sun rose and it brought with it a shimmering haze. She saw all this before her and was paralyzed. The storm was heading north east now, but in her rear view the deeper grey sky was rumbling, stampeding toward her.
